South Africa : SANGONeT

SANGONeTThe SANGOTeCH online technology donation and discount portal is a partnership between SANGONeT/NGO Pulse and TechSoup that links technology donations and the South African NGO sector. The SANGOTeCH programme will assist NGOs in two key ways: by providing software for a very low fee and also by assisting NGOs to make the most of their ICT purchases and infrastructure. SANGOTeCH was launched in December 2006 and was the first to use the Partner Platform.

TechSoup Partners Meeting / MobileActive08 Summit, 13-16 October 2008

Dear all

I hope you are well. I would like to share some information about logistics with TS partners planning to attend the MobileActive08 Summit (13-15 October 2008) and TechSoup Partners Meeting (16 October 2008) in Johannesburg, South Africa. As the conference and partners meeting will be held at different venues, I have been liaising with Mike Yeaton about a few options to make your stay in Johannesburg as comfortable as possible. There is a very nice and trendy suburb close to SANGONeT's office called Melville. The partners meeting will be held at SANGONeT (5 minutes drive from Melville), while the conference will be held at the Wanderers Club in Illovo (about 20 minutes drive from Melville). We propose that partners book accommodation in Melville for the duration of their stay in Johannesburg. At the same time, we will organise daily transport for the group from Melville to and from the conference venue and SANGONeT. I have attached a list with ten guesthouses in Melville, including room availability for the period 12-17 October 2008 (up to date as of yesterday). The list includes full contact detail, daily rates and websites if available.
